Question Massage at BKK

We're laying over at BKK for about six hours and thought a massage would be a good place to pass the time:

1) Any recommendations for airside or landside massage? We are transferring to a regional flight, so have to go through immigration, collect our luggage, and check it in again.
2) What does it cost (or you can just point me to the website)?
3) How much do you tip?
4) Do they have male masseurs or just female masseuses? We prefer the strength of masseurs.

Thanks.

>May I ask what is your International carrier and the regional carrier’s destination.

Thanks for the information. No, it's not possible, according to SWISS. But here are the details:

ZRH-BKK - LX180 (Swiss)
BKK-PEN - TG2427 (Thai Smile)

Don't worry about the gender of the masseuse, some of those tiny Thai women are incredibly strong and can give a very hard massage.

When discussing your Thai massage tell them how hard you actually want it to be.

They have a massage place on airside for sure. Compared to city it's fairly expensive. Usually it's fairly busy too but it's clean and not stuffy.

I have an upcoming 7 hour (1PM to 8PM) International to International connection (both Thai Smiles on same ticket) @ BKK, and am seeking the same information

I've come across this place Porntip Thai Massage & Spa - gets decent Google reviews and seems fairly close to BKK. Long shot am hoping for some FT reviews

Did someone mention there is a different taxi queue for short distance rides ? I guess I can always go on wifi and order a Grab Taxi

Thai Smile joined Star Alliance Connecting Partners Program

I’m not sure if they have integrated into the Star Alliance system yet. Here an article better explaing Connecting Partners. It did mention Thai Smile will add 11 new destinations, but maybe PEN is not included, but you might want to check again.

Oh! There are some Express Spas on the international airside, and a olace for massage on landside level 3 and B ( Airport Rail Link level)
I did recently a FRA-BKK-CNX no way to get into the Intl Lounges but once I got to the Domestic section there are 2 security checks dont go thru the 2nd to the actual gates, but head downstairs and theres a lounge on the left side, Ive been in alot worse lounges, food, drink clean rest rooms and a beautiful inside garden area to relax (1st security was for Passports, 2nd is their TSA skip that till you want to go to your gate

Probably is the same as any other massage in BKK. The two Health Lands massage is the best for me apart from the Wat Po temple.
but again it depends on what you are looking for. You can take the Airport Link to Paya Thai and then take the Sukhumvit line to Asoke and take a motorcycle taxi to Health Land. Takes about 5 mins on the motorcycle and can walk in about 12 mins from Asoke to Health Land. If my memory serves me right it's 500 baht for a two hour Thai massage.

Day of week? You are able to enter Thailand? Separate tickets? Baggage?

There is a Healthland branch on Srinakarin Road, a bit easier to get to/from the airport? https://www.healthlandspa.com/en/loc...kok/SRINAKARIN

There a few massage places within Seacon Square, a mall on Srinakarin Road,

You could also taxi down to Mega Bang Na, a large mall, which has a few massage places and quite a few excellent restaurants.

Recommend you use GrabCar.

There is a short-distance taxi "bench" at the airport, but you may get shunted to the normal queue?

It's on a Tuesday, I am able to enter Thailand, and it's same ticket with Thai Smiles so I've expect luggage will be checked-through LPQ-BKK-PEN
Thanks for the info on Heartland on Srinakarin Road, so a short Grab/Regular taxi from BKK ?

Remember you'll have to clear arriving Immigration, walk through Customs, get some local currency. Grab may be challenging without mobile data. Then upon departure, you'll have to clear security, and departing Immigration. Maybe save 700 baht in case you get dinged for the PSC.

There is a massage shop international airside at the beginning of concourse A.

Just to circle back, luckily when I exchanged my left-over VND at BKK basement superrich I got a 5 THB coin, used it to call Healthland branch on Srinakarin Road and confirmed 2 x 120 minutes thai massage appointment. Used the airport WIFI and picked up a GRAB from the departure level, cost was 230 THB and took 30 minutes

Had a wonderful time there, 600 THB per person for 2 hours, gave another 100 THB each as tip, facility is clean, nice, and had a private room for the two of us

Had planned to get another GRAB using the facilities free wifi, but the taxi that brought us down asked to bring us back to BKK, that was 200 THB (he ran meter both ways) and paid in cash

Did not get dinged for 700 THB departure tax. Thai Smiles transit at BKK is something less than desirable, had to clear security to get to the departure level, get grilled over by the transit desk staff about not having visited China, and return back down to arrival level to enter Thailand proper - LPQ station refused to issue BKK-PEN boarding pass even thought I had an electronic copy of it from the on-line check-in

So overall < 1900 THB for 2 x 2 hour massage, took under 4 hours total. Had a quick look at the "welcome massage" at the BKK basement, did not look inviting and was priced I believe 450THB per hour

Healthland is a solid choice for "no hanky panky" massage in BKK - however, I'm a bit surprised by your efforts to go there; impressive! (and apparently rewarding to you). Thank you for reporting back.

(on a different note I think your masseur/masseuse were expecting a higher tip than 100 B for 2 hour massage - I would have tipped 200 B, but maybe that is just me)

Yes it's always no hanky panky at all Health Land premises. I also do agree with you on the tip as 200 baht seems to be normal amount per person for a two hour Thai massage.

Sorry, was tipping on percentage here, 100 THB / 600 THB = 16.6% - not like I get Thai massages regularly

Also forgot to add visitng Magic Point food court was the perfect end of the 7+ hour transit, try to blow through all my remaining THB cash but just couldn't do it. Compared to the one in DMK, this food court was super clean and much better choices

Rest of transit time spent at Turkish Airlines lounge, nice service but couldn't take advantage of the free 15 minutes massage
