I thought you were connecting to a domestic flight. You will stay on international side, no domestic gates for you. Besides the International Lounges are nicer. If you have future domestic flights at BKK, then yes after domestic security screening, there are only seating areas by the gate with washrooms and a vending machine or two after security screening.

I’m not sure if they have integrated into the Star Alliance system yet. Here an article better explaing Connecting Partners. It did mention Thai Smile will add 11 new destinations, but maybe PEN is not included, but you might want to check again.

Oh! There are some Express Spas on the international airside, and a olace for massage on landside level 3 and B ( Airport Rail Link level)
I did recently a FRA-BKK-CNX no way to get into the Intl Lounges but once I got to the Domestic section there are 2 security checks dont go thru the 2nd to the actual gates, but head downstairs and theres a lounge on the left side, Ive been in alot worse lounges, food, drink clean rest rooms and a beautiful inside garden area to relax (1st security was for Passports, 2nd is their TSA skip that till you want to go to your gate
