Hello all,
I may have a trip where I land at BKK early morning (about 6AM); and depart on a separate ticket late evening (about 8PM).
Plan for the day will be to wander around town, have lunch, etc and leave.

Any recommendations for hotels that will allow checking-in about 8 or 8:30AM and depart in the afternoon?
Hotel brand does not matter - but has to be pretty decent (say...4 star or higher).

Or any other ideas?

I believe most hotels will offer a day rate if you contact them. Do you have any idea of where you would like to walk around, and what you would like to see during the day? - That would help in recommending something.
Personally, I would aim for either Conrad, Waldorf, Anantara Siam, Park Hyatt, Sheraton Grand, etc. These are in a business district though, so if closer to the old town you would have to look elsewhere.

Please do give some more pointers as to your preferences, and I am sure the collective forum can help better

as SKT-DK mentioned, it depends where you would like to walk around....there are plenty of 4 star+ hotels that offer day rates in many locations of Bangkok
- old town, temple
- Khao San Road
- close to the river
- China Town
- Modern shopping centers
- traditional markets
- Sukhumvit
- Silom
etc.

Thank you both of you!
I think I would like to be near the CentralWorld mall and complete some shopping for the family.
So, It looks like SKT-DK recommendations are literally right there.

I like the Anantara and Conrad brands.. (especially Anantara). However, will try to contact most of those hotels to ask about day rates.

It is still a few months away....will update if I do complete this trip! So, other people can know what happened.

I always used Conrad as my home before I moved to Bangkok many years ago. We still do weekend stays there, and I would still recommend it any day, but if you want to be slightly closer to CTW, Waldorf is right there next to Anantara Siam s well

Ah great to know!
Will call the 3 hotels and see if any will agree for a day room rate.

Anantara Siam is within walking distance from Central World....just 200 meters further down Rachadamri from the Grand Hyatt
