Phuket in Early May
I might have to bail on my China vacation and am working on plan B.... Any thoughts about Phuket in early May (May 3-7th)? I know that the rainy season tends to start sometime in May but just wondering if it tends to be later..
thanks

I'm currently on Phuket, staying at the Amanpuri. Lovely hotel.
But in 6 days it has not stopped raining. Not sure if the rainy season starting early. I think we saw the sun 3 days ago.
The storms are causing lots of problems out in the Similan islands. A dive boat from Khao Lak sank yesterday (all ok) and 400 odd tourists on day trips to the Islands had to be rescued by the Thai navy. It is pretty horrible out there.
Hopefully it's just a temporary bad weather patch and not the start of the season..... But if you get a week like we just had, you may be disappointed.
