F cabin back to OZ!

Sorry if this has been discussed before, a search brought up nothing.

I just received a news-letter from a German TA stating that F finally will be back at least on BKK-SYD by Oct. 25. Did a dummy-booking and found that TG 451/452 and 457/458 are indeed scheduled with F served by 346 equipment. How does this sound?

Certainly true on some of the routes. I have an award booking in November SYD-BKK-ZRH with SYD-BKK in F (paid C class miles, gotta love BD awards). O availability is very good but is not on 777s of course..

No, BMI, formerly British Midland. They only charge mileage based on the longest sector - so SYD-BKK (in F) then BKK-ZRH-TLV (in C) counts as C all the way - and is only 75K points + cash + tax round trip.

Same thing costs the THAI FF's 205,000, and they have an earn rate of 125%when flying C, and TG send a survey asking questions about our income? If TG had half a brain working at anytime in their offices, they could have fixed their problems by simply returning to the Gold FF's, the benefits they took away and we would all on a level playing field. It will dawn on them one day that the FFP's are a huge money making system, just ask Qantas, kept them afloat last year, regards bkkrop

Which is a situation that is liable to change to all of our detriment if people post about it.

I didnt know that. One can only hope that being eaten-up by LH will take some more years.

To qualify for Gold at BD, you only need one return HKG-CDG (or LHR) in TG F. You get 300% status miles and over 400% destination miles.

Maybe my math is not up to date, so how might this be? HKG-BKK-CDG is 6,910 miles o/w, means 6,910x2x3 = 41,460 status miles, right? If Im not mistaken DC requires 57,000 miles for Gold status . Not that I care much because I was foresighted enough to secure DC *G by doing just about this .

However, I started this thread not about the -potential- advantages of the DC programm.

57,000 for BD*G assumes a standing start. If you are already silver, it takes 38,000. The exact qualification thresholds are:

3000 Blue+
16000 Silver
38000 Gold

You may or may not get to skip Blue+ if your first flight would have taken you straight to Silver.

Indeed you need 38000 to qualify, or requalify, for DC gold. As BD DC is very generous with status match, it is trivial to start with at least silver.

I have a question more pertinent to this thread. If TG is adding several routes with F, where are the planes taken from? Does it mean that Europe (e.g. ZRH) will not see F any more?

More destinations for the aircraft-swap lottery.
