How many languages do we have on this board
At this time of the year in Australia, I wish people a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, it is used primarily in retail as a greeting to make customers buy more , but it is a time to wish everyone bundles of happiness and the thought that next year will be prosperous for us all.

The senior girl at Safeways, whom we all call "sixpence", because it stirs her no end, tells me, in Maori New Zealand, it's Meri Kirihimete Mararthi Shub Naja Varsh. Hope i wrote it down correctly, and I blindly trust it says merry christmas and happy new year, so that's for the Kiwi's over the waters.

Seeing as my language is plain old American English, I'll just give the greeting (for those old enough to remember it) that Eddie Murphy used in the movie Trading Places (1983):
"Merry New Year!"
It's always good for bringing a smile to my face, and hopefully yours too.

I'd rather use more politically correct "Happy Holidays" for those who are not celebrating Christmas.
Happy Holidays from New York, USA and
메리 크리스마스 from Seoul, Republic of Korea.
