A346 Jfk?

A346 Jfk?

Will the A346 have any plans to fly to JFK this summmer?
I am booking a *Alliance award and I want to make a First Class non-stop flight between my 2 favorite cities JFK-BKK!

If this were to go into play would it be likely that there would be a last minute A/C change (knowing Thai's record!)

A346 Jfk?

If you got a A346 non-stop JFK-BKK you'd end up in the sea (or on the ice)

I doubt it, seeing as how the A346 has FJY and the A345 (scheduled) has J PY Y. Also, as rolcouz said - it would no longer be a nonstop flight

Thats a bummer. I didn't know the range of the A345 was that much longer than the A346 (seeing as CX's aircraft can go JFK-HKG).

The New TG J seats are nice, but not worth the convenience of a non-stop if for a vacation.

The A346 is barely out of range for JFK from BKK but out of range all the same


A340-500 - Range with 313 passengers 15,742km (8500nm).
A340-600 - Range with 380 passengers 13,890km (7500nm).

This summer I did read at flyertalk (can't remember where and when) that the A346 was indeed sent to JFK one or two times. I'll guess that if the flight is not full, the A346 will also make it all the way to BKK...

Correct me, if I am wrong!

It was sent to JFK because the A345 had engine problems. The flight however made a stop in KIX on both ways IIRC.

TG had only 2 345 at the time so when one needs maintenance, 346 must be used to substitute. The 346 route is BKK-KIX-JFK one-stop and then JFK-BKK non-stop. Now TG has 3 345 so it is very unlikely that 346 will be used for this route again.

The A340-500's wont be used as spares if and when the JFK-LAX starts.

BKK-LAX and BKK-JFK operates on alternative days so they require only 2 aircrafts for both destinations.

The 3rd aircraft will be used for BKK-MXP route but can be pulled if necessary.
