My take on these lines are that sometimes they are long and sometimes there are no lines what so ever, just as it is basically everywhere in the world. I came through two days ago at about 2.30pm and there was not a single person at the fast track, i was through in under a minute.
last time i went through in october last year and i did not have fast track, the wait was in the 5 minute range at 11 am. I think my longest wait ever was about 15 minutes so i don't know if i'm just lucky or are people just complaining...? Also, they handed out complimentary water bottles at the base of the ramp leading up
to the imigration hall, this i have not seen anywhere in the world before and i lift my hat for the gesture. Concluding i must say that i have had longer waits at many airports ,for example FRA and even HEL which is known for the smooth and quick process entering schengen.
I fly out of BKK again tonight, lets see how long i wait.

[mod redactions]… if the PM and the Tourism Minister can find a way to zip people through immigration on their arrival at BKK, then Thailand will do very well indeed in its attempt to grab the largest share of tourist's spending in Asia in 2024 and 2025.

Suggest we just stick to practical matters of fast track arrival/departure on TG, and leave political and other discussions elsewhere (far away…..). General BKK airport matters also have a better home elsewhere on FlyerTalk.

in a Buddhist country Buddhist monks get respect...
if someone invests huge amounts in Thailand and get BOI, he should get some preferred treatment...
etc.
and frankly, I also did not really appreciate (as J passenger with Platinum status) and after I already queued at fast track for some time, that 10 cattle class passengers in wheelchairs in a row got in front of me....wheelchair passenger, who usually take much longer for clearing security.
It looks like some passengers misuse the offer of airlines for wheelchairs for free in particular when you see them later walk somewhere in the terminal.... just a bit obese, over 60 or lazy to walk and they feel entitled

By the way, we fly Business so we’re eligible for Fast Track anyway.

Am I the only one who hasn't found BKK Prio / Fast Track a pain in the arse, especially on arrival?
I hold an APEC/ABTC so I qualify for entry regardless of other factors – and I've never had to wait more than ... 3 minutes to get through.
I'm always curious to hear any horror fast track stories, though. All ears.

Fully agree, never had to wait more than a handful of minutes inbound or outbound. Compare that to Vietnam or Indonesia where even as a J pax, the only way to get fast track is to engage in petty corruption (ie book a fast track service which may or may not work). Same thing goes for the US even (minus the fast track service).
