Yes, the seats are not as far to the front of the fuselage as possible, due to the rather large luggage compartment in the front. You get, IIRC, four windows, which is good, but all give you a view to the side only.

2A has always been my favorite seat. It's the seat that somehow no other pax walk past. 1A normally uses the other side when going to a toilet (due to curtain between F and J?) My partner and I were on 1A and 1K once (old config) and there was a couple who kept opening the front compartment all night grabbing stuff for their young child.
PS this thread keeps freaking me out when there is a new comment.

Mainly flown in the ‘old’ non-suites F config on the 747. And a few trips in F on the 346. Never flown on TG’s 380.
I loved the open cabin on the non-suites version, as did my wife and kids:
My first F flight on the 744 BKK-SYD-AKL late 2005. The return was on the brand new 346 direct AKL-BKK.
HKT-BKK on 25 Dec 2005 with family.
Seats 3A, 3E, 3F and 3K for the family, with our helper too shy but in 2A. Christmas Day HKT-BK
Nearly empty F cabin - FRA-BKK in 2007

That would be 1A of K (not F).. But agree, the view from the front row is brilliant.
It is the old TG F cabin which still is around on a couple of the 747s.

This is what I'm expecting - really looking forward to it! But I would survive with the old cabin if that's what we end up getting. There aren't many opportunities for folks like my wife and I to enjoy this kind of luxury, so we'll thoroughly enjoy the experience, I'm sure!
