They are operating a select few repatriation flights in cooperation with the government - this is one of them.

Previously, TG950/951 has been operating as cargo only.

No just repatriation it could seem, a couple of Swedes were running around in total panic as they did not have their medical forms in order. Sounded more like they were vacationing than returning home. Had to lend them some phone time as they also managed to have their iPhone depleted of battery.

No ‘normal tourists’ are allowed onto flights to Thailand at the moment - if Swedish and panicking, they must be either a) not fulfilling the requirements and thus denied on the flights but not realising, or b) fulfilling the requirements but not having the correct documents sorted.

They seemed to clearly fall in b) having a Covid-19 test, but missing a second medical document by the sounds of it.

They could be a part of the special trial at Phuket to allow a controlled group of tourists in to Thailand under a range of strict rules?

Thai nationals need a fit to fly certificate from the Thai Embassy along with the negative Covid test.

Foreigners can fly to Thailand under the CoE scheme, assuming they are in one of the eleven-ish acceptable categories. O-A, O-X and APEC were just added 29 Sep.

There is also a TEM-Q scheme for Elite Visa holders, although not sure anyone has run that gauntlet yet.

STV-ers are on hold until closer to the end of the month, as of yesterday. Today? Who knows?

Some ~ 5,000 Thais did fly to CPH for seasonal berry picking employment in July - they were blocked at first. They are returning home now.

Dignity for returning berry pickers

About 500 out of more than 5,000 Thai wild berry pickers in Finland and Sweden have returned home and are receiving adequate Covid-19 screenings at various quarantine facilities in the kingdom, said the Labour Ministry.

A total of 498 workers from the Scandinavian countries arrived in the kingdom on Thursday. Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin said 4,741 others will return home over the next few weeks, by Oct 22, as their contracts have expired.

Thai nationals do need a fit to fly cert (which includes 48-hr COVID test affidavit), they do not need proof of insurance.

For Thai nationals, they may have access to State Quarantine facilities, free of charge. Hence the terms SQ and ASQ.

APEC seems only mentioned in Thai Embassy in Australia to be able to apply for CoE.

Did not see any other embassy mentioning it.

Interesting, I did not know there was that much movement to the Nordic region for seasonal work.

There is a similar situation in New Zealand, where our horticultural industry is very reliant on seasonal workers to pick crops - mainly from the pacific islands, but also from Thailand/Philippines.

I knew there was a lot of people coming to the Nordic countries from Eastern Europe for farm and seasonal farm work, I was a bit surprised at the distance travelled for seasonal work in that great numbers. I guess someone could actually do both the NZ and the Nordic season.

Thank you for posting. One wonders how effective the restructuring plan will be.

"The Thai Airways International workers' union is protesting against the appointment of the THAI board chairman's wife to a higher position, saying it undermines trust in the beleaguered organisation. ..."
