SYD-BKK business class seat, recliner or bed?
Could not find seat information on the TG flight SYD-BKK - is the business class seat a regional type, i.e. a poor recliner? or a decent recliner? or even a flat bed?
There are also sporadic F availability on this route. Are the F seats lie-flat beds?

both SYD BKK flights currently on 747 with "decent recliner in business" usually called "angle flat". F has flat bed with either suites or single seats

"decent recliner" is a very nice wording
In fact the B744's offer 170 degree recline whilst A380 and many B777 offer 180 degrees, but these aircraft are unfortunately not operating on the SYD-BKK route

Booked F instead after looking at the awful angled seats on the 747. I am even willing to switch date for the F but luckily do not need to.
The Australia - Asia market probably is much more leisure market so few airlines would offer their best products on these routes. CX does not offer F service but their J seats are decent enough as they are flat bed reversed herringbone seats. TG's are antiquated.
On a side note - we are connected to BKK-HKG in J. Does TG still greet incoming F passengers who connect to J onward flights? Or we are left to fend for ourselves on arrival? Do we have access to F lounge or J lounge only?
Last time we had a 7 hours layover spent in the F lounge, we frankly were not impressed with the so-called "private room". Foods were not good on either the buffet display or on the menu offerings. Message wasn't anything we care for. But being taken care of on arrival and departure was a great feature.

yes you get a buggy ride from arrival gate to A/B/C/D junction, where transit security is; then escorted to security into F lounge. However you will not be escorted for departure as you are on J

the probability to catch a 9F is now increasing as there are now less of the 10F in operation
anyway, 10F I like still as much on a day flight as 9F; for a night flight 9F is preferable

Avoid the business class seats on the 747. Old, worn, very uncomfortable.
The F seats are nice, 9F is nicer and more state of the art than 10F, but both are perfectly acceptable. Grab whatever you can get.

We flew TG F BKK-SYD in August and asked in F lounge if buggy was there and sheepishly were told "we do not do that anymore".
MEET us yes that did, but not TO gate - typical dopey TG logic.

I did not say that you get a buggy to the gate (that is long gone!), just a escort!
