Aaaaahhhh... Just as I suspected, the A330 is now running over July on the BKK-HND route.

Has anyone flown this route of late on the A330? PLEASE tell me TG are not deploying the old cradle seats on this over night flight to Tokyo?

Cheers,

AG. :-:

Just phoned the TG BKK office and they assure us that the aircraft will not be the relic with cradle seats... So, we've picked our seating selections and hope that things do NOT change!

Cheers,

Has anybody actually flown the A330 on this connection? Is it really the newer version?

Anyone knows if the BKK-HND route provides an amenity kit?

the newer version of A330 has angle flat seats (similar like in J on 747, 777-200 and 777-300), 6 rows. Older version the very old recliner seats with 7 rows

I was excited to try TG's 788, but...
TG642/643 Boeing 777-300ER replaces 787-8, daily

You should be happy!
J seats of TG's 777-300ER are better then on the 787!

That's good to hear - haven't been on Thai's 777 either. But my trip was originally 9 sectors with 3 787's from NH, TG, and UA, so I feel like I'm losing some entertainment value there.

My booking still shows 787. Maybe it's not in the system yet, or will be a little jumpy at first.

If they do change: my seat (11K) doesn't exist on the 773-ER, anybody know what TG does in that situation?

those seats on the 330 and 33H in business class are "EADS Sogerma Evolys" seats, but with only two seat configuration buttons (safety position, angled lie flat position; the centre control button for "relax" position of the seat is not fitted). this is due to tight seat pitch arrangement. from my personal experience, 330/33H seats recline to sleep position slightly less than those Evolys fitted on TG's 777-2D7(ER), 777-3D7, or 74N. Sadly, pictures not available on Sogerma website, but google knows. difference between 330 and 33H equipped Evolys seats is technical system (screen, remote, usb connecticity yes/no) only. it is not predictable which ones (33H or 330) TG will send on the flights, they are basically interchangable.

the old 333 with business class cradle seats are phasing out, we will see them no more, very soon. As of the old 333, I just randomly checked, only HS-TEL and HS-TEJ seem to be still flying active service. it's unlikely that those will be sent on 682/683.
