Are the flyertalk.com/townhall/ links for applications working (/received)?
Hi,
I wish to raise this issue in case somebody can clarify that the application is working.
I am referring to the application form here:
http://www.flyertalk.com/townhall/assist_app.php
I sent a 'test' one, referring to a previous application, just now.
As there has been absolutely no response from the last one, I would like to know if it is possible for there to be either an automated response (via PM I guess) to confirm that the application has been forwarded to a real person.
I suspect that applications may be getting lost or sidetracked.
If someone receives the applications, can they please advise that the link works? You should have an application from my handle today (in addition to one a few months ago).
This inquiry is to ascertain if there can be an automated or courtesy response by either the software or a person, to confirm such applications are received, regardless of what happens or doesn't happen to them.
Alternatively, can the application be removed so that people do not waste any more time sending applications that do not get read or responded to.

SanDiego1k has responded to my question and it appears the FT Town Hall applications are indeed received.
There was a hitch where I didn't receive a confirmation e-mail but it is reportedly working now.
I'd still appreciate an e-mail and an explanation of the breakdown, thanks. ^

PMs have also gone unresponded, so I assume this is a non issue and the application link might as well be removed and a 'no new applications, please' notice be placed.
There is a debate happening here regarding metrics of the interest level of people volunteering their time on FT.
Do applications that get sent just disappear, get ignored, get filed or get responses?

BiziBB - I appreciate your vigilence in getting this resolved and for highlighting the issue in the first place.
Though it seems your questions have already been answered and at the risk of being monotonous, moderator applications do not just disappear, they are not ignored, they are filed, and those who submit an application are supposed to get a response (though it appears this part of the system broke down). The linked page you reference is alive and well.
