Anyone have problems with FT and firefox?

Sorry for posting this here...not sure exactly where to post this on the FT forums but this is the one that I use almost exclusively so figured I would do so here.

Does anyone have problems using firefox and the flyertalk website? I find that I have to restart FF at least once a day while reading FT. It's gotten to the point that I'm considering not using FF anymore even though this has been my browser of choice for many years. I'm trying to figure out if it's something wrong specifically with my machine (a new toshiba laptop running vista home premium) or a problem with the FF browser app.

Any thoughts/help on this would be much appreciated!

That's sort of what I was guessing...if other vista users have found the same than that might be the issue.

No problems with any of ours (Mac or PC), but none use Vista.

Since this is really not UA-related, I am moving this to the Technical Issues forum.

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.11 and Windows Vista Premium and don't have any issues when viewing FlyerTalk.

I get hangups with Firefox and Vista Home Premium. They seem to occur when I try to open multiple tabs concurrently. I installed a flashblock add-on that seems to reduce the frequency, but hasn't been a total cure. My current theory is that there's some sort of conflict when multiple tabs are opening simultaneously, so I've been trying to slow down.

I get the same problem on several sites when opening multiple tabs of Ff, this used to be a problem only when opening a huge number ("open all in tabs" from bookmarks and session recovery/restore). This specific problem with only a "normal" number of tabs opening simultaneously seems to have started with the next to last Ff update. It also hangs up occasionally when typing a reply at FT, and doesn't totally catch up with my typing like it used to.

I've been using Vista HP with Ff (with FlashBlock) for close to a year and these problems started with the next to last Ff update. Without using FlashBlock the computer would grind to a halt and Ff would crash frequently with the number of tabs and windows I keep open.

I'm using the same config on my XP Pro SP2 box, and do get issues when I've got many tabs going -- 21 at one point yesterday -- regardless of whether FT or Google News is open in one of them or not. I used to think it was a caching issue, but clearing it repeatedly doesn't result in significant improvement. Closing unnecessary tabs ("NO-ooo") or quitting the browser entirely does seem to put the lead back into its pencil.

BTW, I have the exact same problem on another box, running FF+....... on Win2k SP4.
