Are y'all getting the wacky banner ads?

I have Norton antivirus, firewall, etc. But just tonight I've noticed that FlyerTalk has gone electric with very annoying banner ads. I'm not sure if it's due to something I did or if it's something indigenous to the site.

I wouldn't know since I subscribe to FT Premium which means no adds. Best $12 I ever spent.

Pay $12 is the right thing to do but if you're on a tight budget or a cheapskate, use Firefox with ....... Plus and get the same results.

Actually, the easiest thing to do is learn what a hosts file is and what entries to put in it. There are numerous sites on the web that will let you download a host file (just a text file) with entries that block most ads and popups. It works as well as anything I've tried in the past 10 years.

This is not a CommunityBuzz! issue so we'll transfer it to our Technical Issues forum.

Please continue to follow at it's new home.

Thanks.

Those long banners are back on the side of the page- it looks to me like the FT html code might have gotten mangled for a few hours, a missing <TD> or <TR>, so the table cell was landing on top instead of the side.

Seems fixed now.

I used to have FT premium, however I actually WANT to see some of the ads, especially new promotions. I don't want to see wacky banner ads.

^ Travel related ads make complete sense. Celebrity video ad links do not.

Exactly. I found out I was missing on some potentially great promos, such as the Crown Room Club promo last December. Had I not happened upon discussions where people said, "Click on the ad above" I would not have known that I was missing out.
