new ad size

The new ads that have started appearing this evening are krap.

They take up almost a full screen of display and you have to ROLL to see even the first thread (normally stickies).

Why??

I'm also going to chime in with a complaint about some of the content of these ads.

"Britney Spears in a see-through top"
"Girls Next Door"

Purchasing premium FT is not the solution.

I really am not enjoying the "Intimate dating" ads..... right... dating sites on a frequent flyer site.

I'm disgusted!

I agree!

Placing a tall thin ad in a place where a short, wide ad should go is a mistake. We've already alerted the agency who placed the ad. I've also told them we don't want any ads from Mate1.com, as that is not the appropriate tonality for FlyerTalk.

Can I add a vote AGAINST ZangoVideoCelebs.

Looking at Paris still makes me a bit queezy ...

While I dislike the ads, the majority of the ads are appropriate to this traveler style forum. I fail to see what celebrities cavorting on the red carpet (or elsewhere) have to do with this site.

last night it was National Lampoon Presents... with some peeping through a window ad ... I just saw botox ... and the Mate 1 - Intimate dating...

I know IB needs to make some money, but can't you guys do what NWA did yesterday... just turn the dang things off till you get it fixed????

It's still going on. The long vertical banners are gone, but the soft porn ads for zango.com, a site which installs adware on your computer, are still appearing.

The ads seem to be hosed by content.yieldmanager.edgesuite.net

Yes, we'll get the Zango ads removed. They come through a network, so we need to block them as they come up. I agree about wanted them stopped.

I'm not seeing these ads, but I am getting ActiveX error messages. Seems some ad is not considered a trusted site and can't come thru.

We had this problem years ago, and it took quite a bit of tweaking by Randy's staff to get the un-work friendly ads to stop.

This was one of my concerns when FT became a labor of profit instead of a labor of love.
