Viewing Reputations... can we see more?

Dear FT Technical Gurus:

When I read the Reputation FAQ, I believe it says you can see the 10 latest reputation comments.

However, I can only see 5 reputation on MyFlyertalk.

Question: Can the view number be raised so we can see more or all of our reputations?

Thanks for considering this change.

William

I concur, for two reasons.

First, of course, is the interest in seeing who the malefactors are over the past few weeks who signed another's handle to a "ding".

Second, for folks (PremEx and ScottC come to mind) who are getting so many blessings, unless they check their account every few minutes, the "top five" will cycle down so fast that they may never know that I -- er, someone -- blessed them.

I agree

I support this as well. At least for this coming week, it would be nice to see all our blings and dings - and on an ongoing basis, I'd prefer the default be set at 10 rather than 5. It's really been fun to get some feedback from people I don't normally correspond with - FT does make an impact.

Thanks, Dan. ^ We are a greedy bunch - we're still asking for more even with this lovely new board software. Thanks for being so obliging.

I know you're going to break my legs for asking, but would it be possible to raise the feedbacks to 15, even if just for one day? Pretty please?

Dan - I am confused here.

So much for the written Admin promise that ALL reputation would be revealed today - as emailed below to most FT'ers in the past week.

Maybe you are not aware of this email? Seems like what you have enabled and what was promised are 2 very different things?

So those cowards that signed other Flyertalker's names (mine included) on totally fake and nasty "reputation" comments left to others are now off scot free if they are not in the past 10 you have just enabled?

Hope Dan is able to turn on all past dings, or IMHO the entire exercise is a botched mess, and the idiots who caused the problems are not being caught with just past 10 revealed.

Why is there a problem setting default to past 100 or so? Some FT'ers claim they have 300+ reps so far, so maybe even a higher default than 100 may be possible?

As emailed from Flyertalk Admin: (Any bolding is mine)

As of Monday, we will be switching the setting that allows for anonymity. Once the setting is switched, users will be able to see exactly who gave or took away reputation points - and here's the really big news, the switch will retroactively impact all reputation messages, meaning anonymity will disappear from all reputations given prior to Monday as well. Randy has always said, everyone on FT is responsible for everything they post, and this decision has been made to reflect that principle.

So, if you feel guilt about anything you have sent anonymously, you have the weekend to rectify the situation.

Should make for an interesting weekend

Promise? No. The email said "the switch will retroactively impact all reputation messages, meaning anonymity will disappear from all reputations given prior to Monday as well."

Nothing about showing all reps, just that reps will be displayed with who they were from (information that was gathered when they submitted the rep), all the way back to the beginning.

There's no "show all" setting, just a numerical limit. We're going to boost it up to 100 and see how that affects system performance...

Thanks for the fast response Dan.

That should flush out all the fakers and cowards I think, that were signing other's names assuming they never be sprung. ^^

Question I can't see reputation

I am an old timer at FT but still trying to adjust to all of these changes. Can someone please tell me how to "see" my "reputation". The FAQ page simply says that it is "on the MyFT" page but I can't find it.

Thanks in advance

If someone has given (or taken away) reputation points, you'll see it listed on the main page of MyFlyerTalk, under the Private Messages and Subscribed Threads/Posts sections. It'll be towards the bottom of the page and labeled as "Latest Reputation Received". Next to that phrase will be your current reputation total.

You can also see your current rep total by clicking the "Edit Options" link in MyFlyerTalk and looking under the "Show My Reputation Level" section.

Am I missing something? How do I see reputation? I went to MyFlyerTalk - nothing there. I cannot see the white scales of justice on my posts (and I am logged in).

Is the feature disabled?

Shut off about a half hour ago. Good thing, IMO.

I'm guessing the reputation feature's appearance did not result from careful deliberation on Randy's part - rather, it was a cool feature of vB that the techies thought should be enabled, but I may be wrong.
