How do I find old bookmarked threads?

I had bookmarked a number of threads in the old forum. Now, i find that those bookmarks(links) no longer work. Were all the threads in the old board imported to the new board? Is there any way of finding the old bookmarked threads in this new board?

thanks.

While all of the old threads should have been moved to the new FlyerTalk (in fact, threads that were once archived have been incorporated back into their original forums on FlyerTalk), there are sporadic reports of threads that are missing.

The Search function is now vastly improved as it is much faster, far more configurable and has many additional features. My personal experience using the new Search function has allowed me to find threads very quickly.

Try the new Search function and find the threads for which you are looking, then bookmark them and delete the old bookmarks. Better yet, subscribe to the desired threads using MyFlyerTalk.

Please report back to this thread if you still cannot find your bookmarked threads.

I think rkjflyer may have been asking is there any easy way to edit the old link to new link.

I would guess the answer is no - there is no simple conversion whereby old link to forum x thread y becomes new link z.

Like KiwiFlyer says, there's no set formula for taking a link from the old site and making it work on the new. The file structure is completely different and we've merged and morphed a lot of the forums for the new site.

Thanks canarsie, kiwi flyer and dan. I was able to find my old bookmarked threads by using the search function. The new search is definitely better than the old one. ^

missing threads

I could not find an old bookmarked thread called "Using 5,000 UA Miles For Hawaiian Island Travel"
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum50/HTML/012305.html

Were some threads deleted?

Some threads did seem to go missing in the transition, perhaps the most prominent of which is the Baht Run thread from MilesBuzz.

Before you jump to that conclusion, though, are you sure you have the actual thread title and not just the title of your bookmark?

If you want to search the 'old flyertalk' you can enter into Google
site:www.flyertalk.com (search terms)
And then when the threads come up choose the link that says Cached.
