Facebook login not working

Desktop or mobile? Desktop
Reproduced in multiple browsers? Which do/don’t work (we at least need to know the initial browser)? Reproduced in current Safari and current Chrome (Mac OS X)
Steps to reproduce the issue Simply attempt to use Facebook login to log into the forums
Reproduced on incognito mode/private window? Yes
When did this problem start? First noticed it just now (Jan 4, 9:30pm Eastern)

Cannot login. I am posting this from a newly registered account, but the error message says "Feature Unavailable / Facebook Login is currently unavailable for this app, since we are updating additional details for this app. Please try again later."

Unfortunately this is an issue that we've been waiting on Facebook's team to fix for weeks. If you want, I can help reset your credentials on the Facebook-based account. Just PM me with your previous username.

I was wondering if you could please tell me what you did to get your app working? This error message doesn't seem to have much information. Thank you!!!

There is no FlyerTalk app (at least not one that is supported) and we don't handle issues with the Facebook app. You'd be logging into FlyerTalk with a browser.

Hi IBJoel,

I know! I have an "App" that uses the Facebook login too..

For whatever reason, my Facebook Login broke with the error message 'Feature Unavailable / Facebook Login is currently unavailable for this app, since we are updating additional details for this app. Please try again later.'

I have been trying to figure out for almost 3 months how to fix this error.

This forum post shows up in google when you search for 'Feature Unavailable / Facebook Login is currently unavailable for this app, since we are updating additional details for this app. Please try again later.'

I know this is a support forum for Flyer Talk, but I don't know where else to ask (I have posted on Facebook, tried to reach out and more many times).

I'm just wondering, when your Facebook login said 'Feature Unavailable / Facebook Login is currently unavailable for this app, since we are updating additional details for this app. Please try again later.'.. what did you need to do to fix this?

This error message doesn't have any information for it, and whatever you did is going to be my best bet so far...

I hope this makes sense! Please and thank you!

Log in to the Facebook account that owns the app, then go here: https://developers.facebook.com/apps/

They should have steps on how to appeal FB shutting off your app's login

Also, make sure you check your spam folder when you reach out to FB, because their responses frequently end up there.

Hi,

Thank you for posting! I have tried to do those steps many times. My App doesn't have any warnings or alerts or anything.

When I visit the page like you suggest, it says:

'Required actions
You must resolve the issues below to retain access to Meta APIs. If you do not respond, access will be restricted.
You don’t currently have any required actions.
If responses are required in the future, tasks will appear here.'

Do you know what the step was that you needed to complete? My login page is www.infinitesweps.com/facebook/ and I can't find anything..

Unfortunately I do not. I don't think I'll be able to help you any further
