RSS Issues
Hi
I use a customisable home page from Protopage which includes the ability to 'read' RSS feeds but they haven't been working for a few months now.
I have had a bit of a look into it (not an expert) and have discovered that
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/exte...2&forumids=740
is working but
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/exte...2&forumids=372
is not.
The main forum I follow is 446, British Airways | Executive Club and neither
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/exte...2&forumids=446
nor
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/exte...s&forumids=446
appear to be working, I don't really understand the difference between rss and rss2 but I just try both to see if one works.
Has something changed or can you help me to resolve this?
Thanks

My delving deeper involves contacting Protopage, they have responded quickly saying :-
"You're not doing anything wrong, but Flyertalk are denying access from our indexing server. We've just emailed them to ask them to unblock us. Hopefully they will respond."
I realise this is an easy thing for them to say and I have no idea what an indexing server is nor the implications of denying access but hopefully whoever in Flyertalk will get that email will either resolve it or respond with further information.
Thanks

I have again been in contact with Protopage, they contacted you using the contact form on your web site, under the category "other"
The message they are trying to send is
Hi, please could you forward this to your web site engineers: your official RSS feed URL https://www.flyertalk.com/feed is blocking the Protopage.com feed indexing server with a 1005 error code. Please could you investigate and unblock our feed indexing server, which has a user agent "Protopage/3.0 (http://www.protopage.com)"
They can be contacted via [email protected]

I have been given a further comment to add
On further investigation, it looks like the 1005 error is due to Cloudflare blocking access from Protopage's server. This can be resolved by whitelisting the "Protopage/3.0 (http://www.protopage.com)" user agent in Flyertalk's Cloudflare account.
