Cloudflare Errors (Error 521, 1005, etc.)
 

Not sure if its just me, but the website keeps spitting out this error code.

Error 521 is Cloudflare specific, and indicates you were able to connect to Cloudflare but not onward to FlyerTalk. Perhaps Admin will be able to advise you.

“A 521 error happens when we are unable to make a TCP connection to your origin server. ... This is often caused by security or firewall software and happens if the origin server has directly refused Cloudflare's proxy request.“

Are you using a VPN or public Wi-Fi?

I received a cloudflare error about 20 minutes ago. It basically stated that the website returned an unknown error.

I myself got a 502 error yesterday, but it appeared to be resolved within minutes.

I get this Error 521 almost every time I try to log into FlyerTalk these days.

If I let it refresh a few minutes later, it resolves itself.

Hmm... OK, how often doe this error occur?

all the time....i have different isp at home & work....i always get this error at home....at work i can access the site without any problem....

Likely then, that ISP has been associated with spam farms and flagged to be blocked.

i've been using them for a while & this problem only started last week....since then i haven't been able to access the site at all....

what are my options????

It's Cloudflare. They must have updated something. You could try a VPN.

I am getting these occasionally. Started yesterday.

(apologies if this shows up multiple times, but the below error makes it hard to post too :-/ )

FT is plagued with tons of Cloudflare Error 522, "Connection timed out" today. The diagram indicates no problem with the browser/Cloudflare and a problem with the FT servers. Have been getting it on different wifi in different places, mobile data, and diverse geographical locations (I am traveling but VPNed to home to see if might be a regional thing). Other FT friends reporting similar.

I was encountering the same errors earlier this afternoon but it has cleared up.

Another attempt was made to roll out the new design.

I've been getting 400's all day when trying to submit posts.

For the last 2 days constant cloudfare errors.

I just started getting error 1020 when accessing at the office. Has always worked previously, worked fine at home an hour ago, and seems ok on my phone.

Was security ratcheted up due to an attack or something?
any workarounds?

I'm getting the same 1020 errors from the office. We use a fairly vanilla commercial ISP for the connection (Lumen, IIRC, formerly CenturyLink). My office IP is 204.246.251.xx from what I can tell and maps to Virginia.

I've never had a problem from there previously.

I'm still getting the 1020 error. My IP address is: 204.44.96.131

I got it too this morning but it seems to be working now.

My office ISP still gets the 1020 Cloudflare errors and is blocked from accessing FT. Checked it this afternoon when I went in for a couple of hours.

Intermittently getting Cloudfare errors when accessing from work. Just started the past day or two. Not sure what is going on...

Popped up again today (error 1020), lasting a couple of hours. Then, started working again.
Strange this started all of a sudden. Very annoying.

I still consistently have the error from my office. My IP there is 204.246.251.34. It's via a commercial ISP (Lumen, formerly Leven 3 and Century Link).

Every time I try to access from the on-board wifi of CrossCountry trains (UK) I get a 1020 error, eg this evening's

CloudFlare 1020 error

This error started happening around Jan 19 (no issues my first few days there), and has continued ever since! Here is what I was getting.

It's been working great for me for months now, but today the error 1020 is back. 🤔😪

These data points make me feel less guilty about trying to access FT while on vacation lol

Started getting 1020s last weekend when trying to access using UK hotel wifi with vpn.
I’m now back at home, with no vpn but still getting 1020 when trying to access using Mac. No problems with accessing from the same home ISP using mobile.

EDIT:
Still getting 1020 using home broadband, but just tried via NordVPN and can access it ok (usually NordVPN was blocked).
