I am getting error 1020 on my iPad but not on my iPhone (both connected to the same router) any ideas on what settings to change on the iPad to gain connection (no VPN’s are on).
thx |

I still consistently have the error from my office. My IP there is 204.246.251.34. It's via a commercial ISP (Lumen, formerly Leven 3 and Century Link).

Had the Access Denied (1020) problem this weekend when staying at the Marriott Marquis in DC

I've been getting constant Cloudflare errors all day. It makes reading anything extremely hard.
|
Still an issue at my office; on 6/16, generated the following ray ID: 71c58c8449ba19cf
Any ideas? I can't use a VPN on my office PCs, and we use a big corporate ISP (Lumen), so it seems strange that Cloudflare has completely blacklisted our IPs. |
I'm still getting them and today it's now generating Captchas.
|
Please fix the Astrill servers that we use. This isn't a difficult task; all you need to do is get an Astrill account and try the top 50. I'm honestly shocked that you guys haven't delivered on this simple request.
|
So I'm now at 10 days of constant cloudflare errors and day 3 of it requiring captchas, except the pictures are so blurry you can't even tell what you are selecting.

And another train where Flyertalk is blocked!
Trying to access from Eurostar, got Error Code 1020, Ray ID 7269eade5c027300 Why does Flyertalk hate train wifi so much? :( |
Its not that Flyertalk hates trains, it's that the IP addresses associated with users on that shared train WiFi have previously been up to no good, and the reputational score for those IP addresses has been ranked as poor.
Flyertalk subscribes to a service where they choose to deny access to IP addresses that are a known source of troublemakers. This is in part because the security posture of the forum software is quite poor and the ability to defend against spam postings, and DDoS attacks is limited. So by blocking IP addresses of a poor or bad reputation they are looking to preserve the uptime of the site. Of course determined attacks will still prevail but it makes it more complicated for attackers as they have to use IP addresses of a higher reputation, which usually means more expense. |
Office is still blocked, with the following recent rays (all times EDT/GMT-4)
What's funny is that we pay more for this ISP to not look like it's associated with the government at all. Guess they do too well at that, and Cloudflare thinks it's a "bad guy" IP. Would be nice if we could at least whitelist a subnet of it. Not a lot of FTers at the office (I only see 1 other person ever with an account from my IP there), but it's annoying to have to go to the lobby to use my phone to get to FT on days I am physically in the office. |
Haven't been able to get around cloudflare for more than a month. A private corporate network with fewer than 100 ip addresses. We're not a big shop. Ironically, our tech overlords installed cloudflare last year. So we have cloudflare blocking... cloudflare.

Slowness in loading thread and "get stuck" when posting
Two issues I first noticed yesterday.
- It sometimes takes a very long time loading threads and the browser progress indicator "gets stuck" about halfway and doesn't resolve even after waiting several minutes. Opening a new browser tab and reloading the page works most of the time. - When I post comments, the browser progress indicator sometimes "gets stuck" about halfway and doesn't resolve even after waiting several minutes. But if I open a new tab and open the thread, my reply has been posted even though the action doesn't complete in the first tab. I have seen this using Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. Clearing cookies and cache doesn't resolve the issue. I have not seen this on any other website. My internet upload and download speeds are normal. |
I'm currently at EZE. On the LATAM Lounge wifi:

Two of Astrill's best servers (Los Angeles Supercharged and San Jose Supercharged) are STILL blacklisted. Would it kill you to clear just these two?

I’m in a hotel for the next 4 months and the hotel WiFi IP seems to be blocked by Flyertalk.

Error 1020 RAY 75dcb54e6bd4f8d1 f you take the IP address you have at the hotel and check that it's not widely blacklisted by reputable companies, then it's possibly a manually loaded IP address block that Cloudfare did after FT/IB Admins/privileged actors loaded the IP address for blocking. Removing the block should be easy. That's what error 1020 suggests. |

Did the block start suddenly during the stay, or was the blocking of FT access in place when you initially checked in to the hotel?

Are you suggesting that, if we post affected IP addresses here, maybe in a wikipost (to keep them all in one place), IB people could whitelist them and all would be peachy?
|
Using AirVPN servers in Chicago/NYC and FT has them blocked ☹

Keep on getting blocked on the train Wifi (Great Western Railway) here in the U.K.

After working fairly well I once again am getting blocked from ANY VPN IP from either Private Internet Access or Express VPN. I don't use those to spoof my location, I use them for security. As an example, here is the IP address I recently used: 208.83.82.208 I get an error 1020.

It seems that Cloudflare is blocking the SNCF passenger WiFi. So up to 300,000 travelers each day on the TGV cannot access Flyertalk. No VPN involved.

Was trying to connect via VPN this morning. I use the Mozilla VPN which has its backend services provided by Cloudflare. Have always hit a wall. I understand the need to block spammers, but a travel forum for travelers that doesn't let you use a VPN when at an airport. *puzzled look*

Have you run the IP address to see if it’s been flagged by Cloudfare more generally as a problem IP address or if it’s an FT-specific flagging? I’ve seen cases where FT seems to be the only site for which Cloudflare puts up a block for some IP addresses that seem generally clear everywhere else with regard to US-based public sites.
