Inconsistent PM notifications

Inconsistent PM notifications
Recenlty I haven't always been getting the pop up box saying that I have a new PM consistently. Two or three of my recent incoming messages resulted in no notification at all, and then a newer message (from a different username) caused the usual box to appear.
I had noticed this at the time of the latest major FT "upgrade" but it seems to have become worse recently rather than fixing itself.
Yes, I can check for PMs periodically, especially during DOs or if I'm otherwise expecting a message, but I don't always remember to check and it shouldn't be necessary.
In fact, it can be embarrassing to then receive the "why haven't you responded messages?" when I've been active on FT in the meantime.

Another option could be to set up the feature that emails you every time you get a Private Message. I use that option so I do not have to worry about not knowing about messages coming into my Inbox.

Are you using different browsers or devices to access the site? Have you cleared cookies/cache? Otherwise, I would do as wharvey suggested. Or we need more more examples of this happening to other users. If you remember all of them, you can PM me a list of the users from whom you have and have not gotten PM notifications. and I can see if there's anything the non-notifiers have in common on their end.

I've been using the same device and browser. I know that this month I had several messages that didn't result in the pop up box and then one more recently that did, all from the same person/username.

I do have MyFlyerTalk, which I set up a very long time ago. However, I never noticed the bell turning orange; I had always been made aware of new PMs by getting a pop up box in the middle of my screen.
