When reading posts, browser crashes, again and again...

When reading posts, browser crashes, again and again...
I’ve had this problem with FT for awhile, but it’s getting much worse the last month. When I’m reading and scrolling through long threads, the browser window crashes, and reloads at the top. Meaning I have to find where I was last reading and scroll back again.
In the span of 10 minutes, it happened 4 times in one thread. Quite annoying.
Ipad Air 2. Safari. 11.3.1. Using desktop viewing mode.
Rarely happens on other websites.
