Mobile device redirects / hijacks
Hi everyone,
As I mentioned earlier, we are going to try, hopefully sooner than later, to handle the dreaded mobile advertising hijacks a bit better in 2018. More to come on that soon, I hope -- I am waiting for word.
Meanwhile, it's come to my attention that on the CHROME mobile browser, you can try this to fix:

Meanwhile, it's come to my attention that on the CHROME mobile browser, you can try this to fix:
- Load chrome://flags/#enable-framebusting-needs-sameorigin-or-usergesture in the browser's address bar.
- Switch the status of the "Framebusting requires same-origin or a user gesture" experimental flag from default to enabled.
- Restart the Chrome browser.

I logged in just to post my experience. Thanks for posting the temporary fix for Chrome. It does prevent the redirect on an existing FT page. And a message at the bottom shows up "Redirect Blocked"
However, now the same pop up ads are opening extra tabs (windows) in spurts, sometimes 4 or 5 at a time. It requires quite a bit of vigilance to close these extra windows that show up every couple minutes.
Any other more effective fixes available? FT is now somewhat more usable, but I honestly have never been on a site with so many hijacked ads...this is probably turning away a lot of users!

Today the bad ads are EXTREMELY aggressive again. One wouldn't even stop loading and I had to re-install (uninstall, reinstall) Chrome to get rid of it. Not going to use FT on mobile anymore till this is fixed..

If it helps: I narrowed it down. I only get those malware adds on a very few threads - others are fine. One I could clearly identify (it happens every time when opening it) is this one:
China 24, 72, and 144 hour Transit Without Visa ("TWOV") rules master thread
(I click on "newest unread post", it shows the thread, then after 2-3 seconds the redirect happened. Happened yesterday and today to me, obviously with a different "unread post" to jump to)

Thank you for the Chrome "flags" fix. That is working for me. I have been getting the hijack only on the mobile Chrome Android browser. Until yesterday it was intermittent; today it was happening 100% of the time until I saw your fix (which is not opening up other pages for me as reported in #3 ).
Every time, the top ad that appeared while I was browsing was one for wahealthplanfinder dot org -- then the page would be hijacked. After applying your fix I browsed a short page (with no comments) to minimize the number of ads (it was the "MU connections not allowed..." thread in the Delta forum). Four ads appeared; three were for wahealthplanfinder dot org and the other was for the World of Hyatt card. With your fix on, the "Redirect blocked" message appears every few seconds while the page is open.
Edit: I finally got one page to not show that ad, and the "Redirect blocked" didn't appear. But on other pages, every time that eight ball starts spinning (the beginning of the wahealthplanfinder ad), a few seconds later I get the "Redirect blocked" message. Get rid of that ad!

I've just hit this problem today - unable to browse to https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marr...l#post30097942 as every time I navigate to they page I'm forcibly redirected to a dodgy advert

OK, thanks - it's been OK more recently but happened about 5x on that thread (I kept trying to reply to something!) - presumably could have been a particular ad that has rotated off?
