Problems with video links

Problems with video links

Previously, FT would properly play truncated youtube videos, such as: "https://youtu.be/If3SXJeZzMQ?t=27"

The URL above would only play the video content starting 27 seconds into the video.

Now, if I put such a link into a post, FT insists on displaying the entire video, not just that portion after t=27.

It displays properly when I preview the post, but when I submit the post what displays is the entire video.... as illustrated below.

The plugin that translates the youtube URL to the embed is ignoring the "&t=" parameter. I've seen similar issues in some embeds using the shortlink version of the youtube URL versus the longer URL but a quick test here says that's not it.
The URL https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If3SXJeZzMQ&t=27 translates to http://www.youtube.com/v/If3SXJeZzMQ&ap=%2526fmt%3D18&fs=1 and you can see the "27" part is stripped off.

The odd aspect of this is that this used to work, but no longer does.

I'll talk to tech about this. It may have been a change in YouTube. Have you noticed it on any other forums, by chance?

No... this is the only forum I post in.

But, I can post the url into a word document, click on the link, and it properly plays the truncated video. So, this would suggest that the problem is with FT, not with youtube.

My apologies for the lapse in time. I have learned that since we use 3rd Party software to host YouTube, we can't control how exactly it works.
