FT Hiccup? ("View first unread" anomalies)

I have noticed over the last several days that, when I select the "View First Unread" link, I get transferred to the last post in the thread... even when there are other posts ahead of this that I have not read.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Something like this happens to me every 30-90 days when the cookie representing my login to FT expires. Did you have to actually login to FT to post this?

No, I am logged in.

Another FT aberration... I will go three months when I do not have to log in to FT each time I return to it, then I will go thru a period when I have to log in each time. Now, I am in a sustained log-in period.

Yes. Every time I click on "view first unread" for 2 days running. Never had this happen before.

There is a software issue with unread posts. It's been reported. Please stand by.

A patch has been deployed. Over the next 24 hours please let us know if this improves.

Still has not worked correctly for me despite testing it daily, since reported. Thanks.

Update: It continues to take me to the last post rather than the first unread.

Same here. It's been happening for quite awhile both on my laptop and ipad. Always goes straight to the last post. It's driving me nuts!

Two months later...still a problem. Any chance it will get fixed?

IBobi Aug 23, 2016 5:07 pm

Yes, we are testing a software patch to address this.

Silver Fox Aug 31, 2016 7:44 am

Any news as it is still broken for me.

IBobi Aug 31, 2016 8:37 pm

No news. It is still broken for everyone. I'll post when this is fixed, though it may be a while -- it must be coded into the next version of the VB software they are working on.
