Cache was cleared (and everything else; I quit and restarted Firefox and it is set to clear everything on quit) and the problem persists.

OK folks,

This has been exhaustively tested, fixes have been applied, it's been kicked upstairs to the master developers...

1. Is anyone still seeing this issue?
2. If so, would you be willing to let one of our techs log into your computer remotely to see if they can reproduce?

Nobody here has been able to reproduce this error, and failing that, we would need to let this one go.

At this point the consensus seems to be that *maybe* there was a functional change when FT was upgraded last spring, and a small number of FTers in an edge case were affected by it -- BUT the software is actually working as designed.

This has reared it's ugly head again. Using Safari (not mobile skin) on ipad air.
It has been happening for the past few days on about half the threads I visit. After clicking on 'New posts' from the blue bar, then clicking the 'view first unread' triangle next to the applicable thread from the full list of threads, it takes me either to the top of some random page or to the very first post in the entire thread. This is despite my having visited the thread many times before. I have to scroll all the way to the end to get to the latest, unread post. Same issue as reported before.

I can give you thread examples if you need them.

Yes I saw that but I can't let you remote into my computer - and it happens on multiple computers.

But the fact is that the problem still remains for many so unsure why your tech people can't reproduce the problem.
