LOUD audio playing on thread opening (audio ads prohibited on FT)

I'm having similar problems and they are not only annoying but either these or other video advertisements are completely bogging down my FT experience. Most recent audio ad was one by Enbridge. OK.de appears on the screen to the right with picture of clouds and a farm

Can we please stop the video/audible ads
Quite apart from the fact that they are particularly annoying if you are listening to music while browsing, they are very resource hungry and slow FT down and make pages crash regularly. I just had to do a post with images three times because of it. This one is posting very slowly.
Sure I could .......er or something, but I appreciate that websites such as t his need advertising revenue in order to be free at the point of use. Isn't it rather killing the goose that lays the golden egg when you make the website so unusable that a regular poster stays away?
I don't want some voice telling me to buy something when I am listening to music. I rarely click on links, but won't click on video links out of principle.

I am getting a loud Ricky Gervais voiceover for Verizon with about every third page I load. Funny, but I don't see an accompanying banner / column ad, hence no apparent way to silence it. Very annoying.
