Still happening, at least to me. US location, phone only, Android 4.4.2 Chrome Version 44.0.2403.133. It is exceptionally devious in that it moves around and seems to hover over the ads on the side such that when you try to hit the tiny close button, you invariably hit an ad on the side instead.

xooz are you seeing this while you are logged into FT?

Still a problem logging in today as add sits right over the log in

Can you post a screen shot?

@Ibobi works like a charm for me today. The Ashley Madison ad (KR) is there but not disrupting viewing or posting!

Still logging in from South Korea?

Yes and it's fine posting and viewing now! Thank you.

No, I am not logged in. My usual way of accessing Flyertalk is to go to Forums and click on New Posts without logging in. That eliminates the Omni/PR drivel. I will get on my phone and log in to see if that makes a difference.

ETA: First blush it looks like no Slingbox when I am logged in. Will try it that way for a while, though a return to my previous non-ad covered forum browsing would be appreciated.

The audio ads are back. Seems to be either two per page, or none at all. I'm on a pretty powerful workstation and they slow the page down to an almost unusable level. I am logging in from Hong Kong:

The ad keeps spinning and a loud Korean woman's voice scared the bejeezus out of me. It heavily lags the Park Hyatt Vienna thread I was reading at the time.

I'm getting this one - makes FT almost unusable :mad::mad:

If this ad is on the page you are loading, it will take a few minutes to finally appear.

It's back

I cleared my browsing history this morning & when I went to log on to FT again, the pop-up above occurred. What's doubly annoying is that it was covering the log-in area, so 2 times instead of keying in my log in info I ended up clicking on the pop up which redirected me. Finally was able to log into FT the 3rd time.

It occurred on my Windows laptop (Vista) with Chrome browser. Am located in the Midwest in the US.

Have never seen it on my PC (Win7 With Chrome browser). But it has rendered my phone just about useless for Flyertalk forum browsing. I may try setting my account up differently such that I stay logged in but somehow exclude Omni threads. i believe that can be done but need to research how.

So far I've not had the Slingbox pop-up on my Kindle Fire HD, but I am getting it on my laptop.

It's the same pop-up that I quoted a few posts above, so hopefully IB can get rid of it again.

Cheers.

Evidently I hadn't clicked on the remember me part earlier today when I logged in, because when I came back to FT I had a Hyatt credit card pop-up.

Cheers.

Couple of ads (iphone 4 so may be a basic version of ads above): just some text but they have an underlying 'box' i have highlighted on one ad that covers all the important navigation tools; login, pms, page navigation etc. you can see the x on the right, Hit the x it doesn't go away, turns to a 'play' arrow. Im not getting any audio or vids, i suspect the phone just can't play them! Been there for a few days, not had time to post.

This has been mentioned before, it doesn't appear to be accidental.

I don't get it all the time, but typically for 5 consecutive page loads.
That's still far too intrusive - I am unlikely to change my mind in 20 seconds.
