Suggested improvement to Private Messages

Hi. I would love to be able to search Private Messages by username in order to access past messages with specific other Flyertalkers. As it is now, you have to search page by page looking for someone's past message.

Would also be great to be able to activate an Out of Office message to be generated to a sender if one is away for the moment. Now, the only option is to not accept Private Messages, then activate them again when you return.

Those would be solid improvements!

Let's see what IBobi says after checking those possibilities out with Tech at Internet Brands, owners of vBulletin and FlyerTalk.

I would also love to have the ability to archive messages in a more usable format than a flat file.

I would love to be able to search PMs. I do not believe that will ever be possible.

It would be nice to remove the 500 PM limit.

It probably made sense when the IBB software was written, but that was when storage capacity and processor power was an order of magnitude less than it is today.

That might be a question for Carol.
