Yellow icons are gone when I hit the back button

When I go to the flyertalk miles forums all the new posts since my last visit have the yellow icon lit up. I go to the threads and the new posts have yellow folders. I then read a thread and when I hit the back button all the yellow icons are gone. It is like I refreshed the page instead of just going back. This started happening on Sunday. I have been reading flyertalk for several years and haven't encountered this problem before. I am not computer savvy and would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.

We've set the pages to not cache, since it seemed that users weren't seeing their posts added to the forums after they posted.

This could be what's causing the yellow folders to disappear for you. Unfortunately, with this cache situation, there doesn't seem to be solution that fixes both problems.

OK, I think this is very annoying.

But then I guess it is just me!

I generally read/post when I can grab a few minutes during the day. The yellow bulbs & folders allow me to quickly see what's new. Loosing them is a real inconvenience for me.

Dan,
Thanks for the answer. Glad to see it's not something I did to my computer.

I agree with the others that it is annoying.

What kind of Grassroots Revolt do I need to start to get the caching back?

OK, this is really, really, really, really, really begining to get annoying. It has definitely cut down my time spent on FT. Oh well.

I too have this problem when using Internet Explorer. However, the problem does not occur when using Netscape. As such, I use Netscape for viewing FT!

You can avoid this problem by opening new threads and boards by right-clicking on them and opening them in new windows.

You can also keep the yellow icons if you use the directory tree found above the Post Reply section. Just click on the level you want to go back to rather than using your browser's back button.

This appears to be getting worse for me. The problem was sporadic. In the past 2 days I'm now guaranteed to loose the lightbulbs after viewing my first forum.

I agree. It's incredibly annoying.
