Come on now. Fix AA.

I've not been able to get on the AA site since last Wed.
Wed worked fine -- from Thursday night on, every time I tried to get on I either timed out or got the "nothing there" message.

I've tried from home and office - zip.

What's the deal?

If this isn't fixed soon, I may have to resort to doing some real work at the office.

I feel sorry for Dan@webflyer and colleagues as clearly there is a sticky tech problem behind all this downtime on AA Forum in the past week.

This is a SERIOUS suggestion. As AA Forum has been down for days, it makes perfect sense to have somewhere to post AA stuff while the board is down.

It is made to offer a temporary 'patch' to a problem I am sure will be back to normal real soon, but FT addicts are FT addicts ... and the AA Forum was a very busy one.

Due to my resurrecting the ANSETT Forum as a bit of fun a few days ago, some AA addicts might like to start adding AA related threads over there?

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum.../000689-3.html

This is a totally unofficial suggestion, and may be frowned on by FT .... I have no clue, and I am sure I'll be advised if it is. If you do not see me posting for a few weeks, it was clearly not a great idea.

Yes, you could pick ANY seldom used Forum like Reno or Sun Air, but Ansett is easy to remember.

HOWEVER, as there is only minimal archival stuff on that Ansett Forum, it will probably whizz along like crazy speed wise until the normal AA Forum is rebuilt. Over to you guys, but SOME central Forum in some form is I am sure better than NO central Forum at all. Sure only 10% of those who normally post there will hear of this suggestion, but that is better than zero AA posts in the next few days I guess?

Start a thread just like you would in the AA Forum, and reply to it just as you normally would. Maybe when it is all over Dan can lock them and move them across to the AA Forum just as off topic threads are now moved to wherever they are deemed most suitable. THAT works, so I can't see why this would not?

Just my devalued ozzie 2 worth.
