Hmmm. Maybe it was just a light period, as the delay seems to have come back...

planeluvr Aug 25, 2007 11:09 am

People still use IE? :p

PTravel Aug 30, 2007 2:51 pm

FT seems to be dragging again, albeit intermittently.

Unfortunately, it isn't just your imagination. The site is having a bit of a hard time keeping up at the moment, but Kevin, Joshua and others are looking into it even as we type.

Can't provide a definite time frame at the moment as to how long it will take to resolve the issue, but obviously we're hoping to get it fixed as quickly as possible.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks. And special thanks for all the hard work you folks put in to keep FT ticking! ^^

I view a lot of different forums and FT does seem to have more problems than others with downtime as well as slow responses, is there any reason for this?

cblaisd Sep 4, 2007 3:00 pm

Intermittently slow (even timing out once) for the last hour or so.

The Slowness IS Back!

It's been very slow loading the FT pages. The ad header seems to be loaded just fine at the normal speed. It's that the trick to force us, the non-premium FTers, to "enjoy" and watch the free ad? :p

The other problem I ran into intermittently today were error messages and the browser giving up. I have been seeing messages as "Internet Explorer cannot dispaly the webpage" (just now), and a warning sound/popup window saying needed to abort (this afternoon).

Are we doing some upgrades throughout the day?

FT email notification is again slow to non-existent :(

gfunkdave Sep 17, 2007 4:15 pm

It never worked for me either, until I added Flyertalk as a contact in Gmail.

I have checked the spam folder many times, and never even saw notifications in there. Evidently Gmail does some sort of spam filtering that messages have to clear before it decides if the message should go to the Spam folder or Inbox.

FWIW, my email address on here is a dummy email that points to my gmail account.

Thritto.

Not using GMail but not receiving the updates for some time now. Double checked and am still subscribed to the active threads.

It's baa-ack. No email updates from 9/29.

Kiwi Flyer Oct 1, 2007 12:09 pm

See the other recent threads about server problems. BTW I am now getting (slowly) email notifications from the past few days. Looks like it is going through the backlog now.
