It is REALLY bad right now. We're talking 5 minute delays as of right now. Verified with another person as well.

Fast once again.

PG Jan 28, 2005 1:12 pm

Really slow this afternoon.

Kiwi Flyer Jan 28, 2005 8:21 pm

Intermittently hanging for me today :(

JRF Jan 30, 2005 7:26 am

While all seems to be okay now, is there any word from anyone at FT about this?

ozstamps Jan 31, 2005 2:32 am

I have been travelling for 10 days solid and no access til now.

For past few hours it is slower than it was before I left. Like Pucci I have lost a lot of typed posts.

"Hangs" a long time before any page opens.

Oz, this is my biggest complaint regarding the slowness of FT. I have lost countless typed posts because of it. As of late, I have copied every post prior to submitting it so that I don't have to start all over again. It is a royal pain.

Can the number of threads that we automatically subscribe to have anything to do with this? I have "instant notification" as my default setting in "My Flyertalk". This morning I deleted more pages of subscribed threads than I could have ever dreamed I was signed up for. Some of them are going back many months. I can only imagine that most of us have it setup to notify us instantly whenever a post is made to a thread that we have started or posted to. Perhaps this is also putting a load on the servers?

For me the slowdowns seem to occur mainly between noon and 2pm, and 3 and 4pm ET. I've been assuming these are heavy traffic times as the West Coast gets to work, lunch.

The New Slow Posting Thread

New thread so it can be seen.

Right now it's the slowest I've seen in months. Bad enough to log off.

Win XP Pro/IE.

:(

Sporadically very, very, very slow this morning (Hawaii time)

Last night though around midnight was particularly bad. This was not a time in which there was a particularly heavy user load.

airbus320 Feb 1, 2005 2:12 pm

Very slow up North....

jfe Feb 1, 2005 2:52 pm

Now I know why they installed the "Quick Reply" feature ;)

SEA_Tigger Feb 1, 2005 3:47 pm

Been pretty slow for the most part, but some of the lighter-hit forums (like this one) are pretty snappy.

Kiwi Flyer Feb 1, 2005 3:55 pm

Slow for me too today :(

BTW why the new thread?
