Site problems today (01-01-02)
FlyerTalk performance has been sporadic for the last four hours or so: very slow in general with machine crashes at least five times when using the "Back" button on my browser. All other web sites OK.
Is it just me??
Mac G4 Cube with IE 5.01 and cable ISP connection.
EDIT: Please see this post in Randy's forum reagrding the banner ad:

Speaking of dummies, the date is supposed to read 01-31-02.

Notice how the banner ads now appear at the top of the page as well as the bottom? In order for the main page content to render, your browser is waiting for the ad graphic from this cyberreps.com ad server. So we're stuck in a bottleneck waiting for the ad before we get to see the content.

Some of these ads actually crash Internet Explorer on Windows ("this application has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down"). The workaround? Right-click on the Internet Explorer icon and choose Properties -or- from an IE window, select Internet Options... from the Tools menu. Click the Security tab. Then click the Restricted sites icon. ("This zone contains Web sites that could potentially damage your computer or data.") Click the Sites... button. Under Add this Web site to the zone:, type http://oascentral.cybereps.com and click the OK button. This stops the crashing and speeds things up considerably.

EPS: Thank you. Though I am working on a Mac, I have tried what you suggested and it seems to be helping. Your instructions were so clear that I could carry them out on a Mac and IE in French.

Our ad company has asked for more information about these banner ad crashes, since they can't duplicate the error on their end, and we don't seem to get the problems over here as well.
When you get a banner error or something pointing to "oascentral.cyberreps.com" that causes your browser to crash, etc, can you provide the following information:
1. Browser and version
2. Operating System
3. Time of day the error occurred
4. The error message, if any
5. Scope of problem (does it happen only on certain pages, areas, or is it all over)
Thanks for your patience as we work this out...

It doesn't crash my system (Mac, NS 4.6; odd since IE is usually more tolerant of small site errors than NetScape) but it takes forever to load. My system seems to spend about twice as much time waiting for that site as for everything else on the page combined.
