yes the UA board is down - existing posts can be accessed using the search function (UA forum, yesterday) and I just answered to one post afterwards succesfully.

Sweet Willie, Michael posted an announcement saying that he was taking the United board down at 9:30am, hoping to have it down briefly. I'm horrible at links, so I won't try to link to the announcement - which will likely disappear anyway when Michael brings the board back up.
Michael, I've really appreciated your announcements the last two days that you've seen our posts and you are working on the problems. When I can't access my favorite forum, it's comforting to know that you are aware of the problem.
It also helps me realize how much more frustrating it must be for you than even we addicted FlyerTalkers when the solutions you think you've implemented aren't sufficient. And the board problems are sure keeping you busy through one of the last weekends of the summer.

I can see Michael is doing his darndest here, and that is really appreciated especially on a weekend. But Michael the fact one or all of the 3 biggest boards, Buzz, AA and UA seem to be very slow or totally fritzed nearly one day out of two for months now must by now surely sending an obvious message? It never happened with the older version of FT. If the platform you are using is a more powerful milti-featured UBB, the current madness is even more surprising.
Why not go BACK to the other UBB program? That worked most of the time by my observation. "If it aint broke, don't fix it"? Spreading FT into a well used and a little used Siberia zone seems to have been widely unpopular and that and moderators seem to be the only real differences from the old board. And both are still attracting much comment.

Good evening everyone.
Well, after many, many hours trying to get United to buck up, I've had no success...as I'm sure that you all are very, very well aware.
Everything that normally fixes these sorts of situations, even temporarily, is not working to fix this particular problem.
That said I must admit defeat and let you all know that I'm at the end of my courses...so I will be calling in the big guns...InfoPop!!! I think that if anyone has the answers to this particular dilema it must surely be the creators of the software itself...wouldn't you agree? Hopefully they'll have a solution.
Given the above here is my tentative plan...I will be deactivating the United forum until further notice. I will then contact InfoPop early in the morning and see what we can find out about this and numerous other issues. I'll then take steps to implement as many of their suggestions as is feasible and let you be the judge of the outcome....deal?
Please accept my deepest apologies for the situation and continue to be as supportive in your communication with us as you can bring yourself to be.
Thank you for your time and attention in this matter.

Good morning everybody. Yes, the United forum is down...unfortunately. It's defintely one of the worse problems I've seen in the 4 years or so that I've been working the board. I worked for well over 9 or 10 hours on it yesterday and nothing that usually fixes the problems had any effect on this situation.
I will be calling InfoPop here shortly and hopefully they'll be able to help me get this situation under control...yes, pierre mclopez it's pure chaos.
What would my life be without it...I wouldn't know what to do. LOL...
P.S. ahrz, I wish the data in question was in a database...Oracle or otherwise, but alas it's only flat files many, many thousands of them...actually closer to a million now I believe. The flat file structure that InfoPop opted for in their product is one of the biggest curses to this product as far as I'm concerned.
Thank you all for your patience and please help me spread the word that there is an announcement up here in several places explaining the situation.
