Refreshing takes you back to main menu?

Just one issue with the new board...

I usually have 2 or more browsers open at the same time, surfing on one or more, and leaving one on the AA board.

On the old board, I could refresh the AA board page, and see which topics have had activity since I last looked at it. Now, when I refresh, I am taken back to the FlyerTalk Miles main forum.

Not a big deal to click into AA, but was this by design?

FYI - I just got a "page cannot be accessed" error page on the B&B forum, and when I hit refresh, I was directed back to the main board as well..

The first would be server load (I am getting them now and then)...2nd is the function as implemented (kind of pain in the butt).

Being sent back to the main page when refreshing is really rather irritating. A major step backward, for the new FT, IMHO.

conspiracy theories aside, we haven't spent our time thinking of these types of things to ruin your day. It may simply be the way the latest version of the software works or it may just need some additional tweeking. Now that we are aware of this, we'll put it on a (thankfully very short) list of things to review. Might have an answer as early as today - Monday.

Agree! Also, you can no longer reference a link to a thread. All threads now show the same URL (that's the reason why refreshing takes you back to the main page.)

For those of you on a PC using internet explorer, to refesh just a section of the page: Using your RIGHT mouse button, click once in a blank section of the page and choose "Refresh".

Once you get the hang of it, it goes pretty quick.

? I was able to post a link to a thread a short while ago (& successfully access the relevant thread via the link I posted).

In fact, the way I got to THIS thread (re: "Refreshing takes you back to main menu?") was via a link in another thread:

What specifically did you encounter?

This seems to be a solution working for just about everyone.
