Speech recognition software and FT.

I currently use Dragon Naturally Speaking software to dictate all my word and email documents. This software doesn't work on the FT bulletin boards or the live chat rooms. Is there anything that can be done to correct this?

That sounds cool but since we use two different technology solutions for these two services we'll have to go back to them. 'Speaking' of which I will do tonight. Not sure what their tech answer turnaround time is so please be patient. Thanks - another very interesting question. This is sure an interesting community we have here. I thought this talking stuff was only on the La Femme Nikita TV show.....and MI:2.

Randy, I have been using voice recognition software for about 1 year and it is much improved from earlier versions. I am a 2 finger typist, so sending mail and writing letters is now a pleasure. You should look into it for your personal use.

Please let me know the results of your investigation.

P.S. I also watch La Femme Nikita, great minds think alike.

Rssrsvp, can you use Dragon on any other websites? I've seen it in action, but never in the context of web interaction; it was always with stand alone apps, such as Word, etc...

Dan, I haven't tried it anywhere else on the web. I just tried to use it to reply to you and it would correctly type the 1st few words that I dictated and then, place whatever I said next before my 1st dictation. It wil not permit me to complete my sentence.

Does Dragon's documentation say anything about using it in this way? It may have issues with forms and text fields on the web...

Dan, their instruction manual says nothing about chat rooms or web text fields. I will email them for the answer. Thanks again for your assistance. If and when I receive a response, I will post it on this thread.

Dan, I am still waiting for Dragon to answer my inquiry, however last night I tested their software with AOL's Instant Messenger, and it worked without a problem. I then attempted it with posts to the bulletin board, and ran into my original issues again.
