Mountain time is a bit confusing to those outside North America and not aware of it.
When people think of the U.S., Eastern Time usually comes to mind.

The computers for the system are presumably in Colorado. Therefore, Mountain Time. I don't have any idea how hard it would be to make the UBB software adjust that, but I just think of it as "FT time" & make the mental adjustment.

The problem is that if you DO make a change, all the previous messages are still on old time and not moved to the new time.
Besides, since Mountain Time is the home of the USAF Academy, to many pilots I know (at least on DL), there can be no other standard time

I'm on the East Coast, but I would never expect an international service to accomodate my time zone.
If FT wanted to drop the MST connection, IMHO the most reasonable and useful time to use would be UTC ("GMT"), since many travellers already know their offset from UTC.

james: Not quite sure how to interpret your smiley in this case, so I'll play straight man.
GMT is the local time zone for the British Isles.
UTC is a technically adjusted version of GMT (the difference, generally, is measured in milliseconds), but technically, the time used by airlines, U.S. military, GPS, and time & frequency standard stations such as WWV, WWVH, WWVB, and CHU is UTC. (Probably even Rugby!
