Keary, thank you...

Michael had told us a few months ago there was a chronic problem with Netscape reading and recognizing cookies. Has anything changed in that regard?

Like sbrower, I'm a Netscape devotee but have begrudgingly used IE to avoid the problem. Bulbs & folders have worked only intermittently on Netscape for the past 3-4 months (currently using v.4.73).

All systems go on IE, same problems (intermittent) on Netscape. Fortunately I'm on IE at my office on a T1, and it smokes!

RE: Netscape
I used to be a Netscape fan, but there always seemed to be stability issues and the Communicator product was so bulky and slow. I can say that I am still a supporter, insofar as I hope that the new Netscape 6 is an IE killer.

In Netscape's defense, the cookie issues are just as much an InfoPop (the makers of Ultimate Bulletin Board, the technology behind FlyerTalk) issue as a Netscape issue. The technical hurdles could be circumvented. We were promised a fix, and apparently there were some, but not extensive enough, apparently.

Netscape 6 is supposed to solve any of these issues, because they have to do with standards compliance, and the new Netscape is supposed to be the most compliant browser on the market. But with technology, it's always wait-and-see.

The issue with disappearing icons is a Netscape bug where it has difficulty drawing a large number of small icons that are essentially the same. I think this problem is more common on the Mac side, but I have heard reports from the PC front as well.

Please continue to keep us appraised of the issues you experience using the board. It will only make us a better service :-)
