Cookie Problems?

Thought I'd check in and let you know that we are still working on this. I have a second email into UBB and I believe this one will be more apt to get a better response.
Everything "seems" to be functioning fine for me but I'm using IE 5 and that may be why. I don't believe it's Y2K related, I think it's in the way that the BB was coded. It's a lot of code to go over and UBB makes calls to the cookie routines numerous times.
Because we didn't write the code it makes for some very slow going...especially since if we tinker with anything and break it further that invalidates our license and support.
Thank you very much for your continued patience.

... I start suspecting that MS is boycotting Netscape cookies ...
But I will go on using Netscape ... and I have 'just' to watch posting times of each threads when surfing ...

fyi, i'm running netscape 4.7 on Mac Os 8.5.1 and resetting cookies does work to restore the light bulbs,
but it seems to be a one time only kinda thing. if you quit netscape or return a day later, the lightbulbs are gone.

UKStages, that's been the main problem with Netscape.
When you re-set, the Preferences only hold for that session, then the cookies go away & you need to set them again next time.
Int. Explorer is working fine (except for a day last week) and holding the cookies once they're re-set.

You guys are great. This is the kind of feedback we need when it comes to these sorts of problems.
I'm starting to see enough of a pattern here that I can act in a specific direction to see what might be happening.
Thank you all very much.

Using Netscape 4.7, I haven't been able to "hold" cookies on this site for weeks (I try about once a week, just for fun). It works on the session where I set the preferences, but by the next time I return it loses the bulbs and red folders. I don't have this problem with any other site I use (and I visit about 10 "sign in" sites a day).

Hello all. This is to let you know that we are making some progress with the cookie related issues.
In a response from UBB, the creators of the scripting for our BB, they have acknowledged the fact that there are indeed Y2K related problems with Netscapes cookie technology and that they have compensated for these issues in a new upgrade that I will be implementing ASAP.
We will also be upgrading the RAM on our Solaris server which we feel will impact the speed issues in a positive direction.
We appreciate your continued support and patience.

I sure hope someone at FT is working on the system...
As of 6:50am PST, Jan. 18th, there are NO bulbs or folders in IE 5.0. I've deleted and re-set the cookies; will hope they hold for now.

Hello everyone and thank you for your feedback.
I just wanted to let you know that we appreciate your patience and that we are still continueing to work on the cookie & speed issues of FlyerTalk.
I spent many hours yesterday and during the last week attempting to get the UBB upgrade in place. The one that UBB assured me would fix these cookie problems. I hadn't anticipated any problems as the upgrades have never been much of a problem in the past...but alas, this one is giving me a bit of problem for some reason. I managed to get some of it in place, as you can see, but not the critical pieces which was my real goal.
I need to contact UBB again and look over their technical support forums and see if I can determine why this should be a problem. In the meantime keep hanging in there and we'll get this resolved asap.
