I have taken to ignoring the error messages I get when trying to post. I suspect the multiple posting problems relate to this. Your message is often posted even though you get an error message saying that there was trouble connecting.

You can test this -- while you are waiting for your message to post, open a new window go to the thread and you will see your new message already there, go back to the other window and often you will see it is still waiting to post (or so it seems) and then you get an error message saying it cannot connect (even though it obviously already has). Then you try to post again, then you get the error message again etc etc and the multiple posts occur. Ignore the error messages and delete those multiple posts using the new editing feature.

Is this a server problem?

Yes this is a server problem. We've had a considerable amount of double posts and we've discovered, in our testing, that these sorts of errors are the main cause of a lot of the double posts that we are getting.

Also the slowness of the server machine causes the same thing. Push the "Submit Reply" button at the bottom here and wait until the server finishes the transaction and you shouldn't get as many of the multiple posts.
