Connection to FT keeps being reset on FF. Please advise?
Not sure where to ask this so I hope this is okay.
Problems Loading Page
The connection was reset. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
I have Ghostery and AdBlockPlus on the current version of Firefox in Windows Vista. Avira is my antivirus program.
Everything loads in IE.

Thank you for merging the two together.
I still seem to be having browser issues, unfortunately. Does anyone know what may be happening in FireFox?

Chrome not loading FT pages about 5% of the time
About 5% of the time (unscientific; could be more like 10% or more or less), I open a link on FT and the page fails to load. Refreshing the page results in the page loading correctly.
I haven't scientifically narrowed the problem down to any specific factor, but I'll make the following observations:
I suspect it may be related to -new-post.html but can't be 100% certain of that. I'll update this thread if I clarify any of my observations.
Here is a screenshot of what I see when this happens (pardon the misaligned screenshot):
I haven't scientifically narrowed the problem down to any specific factor, but I'll make the following observations:
- I have not noticed it happening when opening MyFlyerTalk (usually my "port of entry" for FT each time I visit, which is sometimes dozens of times daily)
- I have not noticed it when opening a forum listing or any other non-thread link
- About 80% of my FT thread-reading happens via the "go to first new post" function (I'll take this opportunity to note that this is why I find the FT iPhone app unusable
), and this is when I notice it happening - The remaining 20% of my FT thread-reading is opening new, never-opened threads by clicking on the thread title, but I can't say with any certainty whether I've specifically noticed this problem happening when I do this
- I have had the same problem in Chrome on at least five different Windows-based computers at both home and work (both XP and Windows 7) and possibly also when traveling (i.e. on other networks), although I am not certain of the latter but will try to pay attention next time I use a new network
- I've never specifically noticed this specific problem with FF or IE
I suspect it may be related to -new-post.html but can't be 100% certain of that. I'll update this thread if I clarify any of my observations.

On Firefox too!
Maybe this other issue is related too?
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/techn...se-advise.html
Since I have no problem accessing other websites at the same time, I always assume it's due to some small-scale system glitches and/or maintenance on FT, which IB doesn't bother to send out any public notice.

I will say that I only searched the forum for "Chrome" before posting, since I haven't noticed this happening during the (admittedly rare) times I use FF or IE.

Maybe it does something to do the FF update? Ever since that happened last week, I have not been able to access FT from that browser at all. As with Crampedin13A, I do not seem to have problems with other forums or sites.
IE9 seems laggy and unstable for me so I prefer not to use it.
Thank you for looking into this.

This just happened to me again 4 minutes ago and FT was down for like 3 minutes for me:
What's FT up to?
The connection was reset
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Please report your browser/version if you have not already; it'll help us determine if it's related to the new FF release.
The Chrome issue may or may not be related.
