Trouble logging in with Facebook connect

I've tried multiple browsers (Chrome, IE9, Opera10), operating systems (Vista, Win7), connections (home, work VPN), different PCs, but can't for the life of me log in to my Flyertalk account anymore using Facebook connect. My original handle is -Heathcliff-, and I don't think I ever set up a regular login/password.

I am logged in to Facebook. On Flyertalk, sometimes the Facebook connect button won't load at all:

If it does load and I try to log in, a cross domain receiver page pops up and that's it. No further progress/redirect/login:

.

While I did occasionally experience the non-loading Facebook button issue in the past, I was always able to log in as long as the button did load. Not so since last night.

Any idea what's wrong here? I'm happy to transition to a regular account as per the other thread, or have this one merged with my original one, though I'd still like to be able to use Facebook connect eventually.

I too am having the same problem. This is becoming extremely frustrating. Tried on a couple of different browsers with the same issue.

Can one of the Administrator Team please advise???

Since when has this been happening to you all? Perhaps if we can figure out when it all started our technical experts can pinpoint the cause (and hopefully fix it!).

It appears those who "reported" having issues are all newbies.

Have you guys tried the remedy suggested in the other thread, also mentioned in OP?

You're done! You can now log in with your username / password, OR by using facebook connect.
Does it not work for you?

If so, you guys probably should make your followup post in said thread:

Doesn't work because you can't log in via Facebook at all so I have created a new account "arh2" to comment on this thread, hence why may look like a newbie!

Problem started for me on Thursday night.

Not quite a posting legend, but no newbie, either.

I assume all the "someone2" who posted in this thread are using their 2nd FT handle?

It must be very frustrating not able to log in and post normally on FT but I don't think creating a dupe handles to report such problem is the right way to do it, especially when FT TOS prohibits multiple registrations from the same user:

Members are not allowed to have multiple FlyerTalk accounts or usernames. Multiple accounts will be closed and involved members can be subject to the disciplinary process.
FWIW, I believe our IB staff, like all our American FTers, are still enjoying Thanksgiving holidays. They won't be able to start looking at whatever the issue is until the regular business hours resume. It probably will take a bit longer to fix the glitch, if any.

How do you propose we report such a problem when we can't access FT?

So we should be "off" until then?
