Yes... there are lots of puddles outside the land that is known as "London Zone 1"
Consolidation would be good - would be quicker to navigate through both sets of threads in one place ^

With parts of England no-go areas for tourism, one forum would be useful this month for those needing to work out travel issues in & out of LHR.
Thank you for considering the amalgamation, which I support.

I officially abstained on this vote as I do not follow these forums at all, have no idea which path is best for them, and prefer letting TB members who are better informed about this issue than I am make the decision.

I aaume that is in reference to the recent damage caused by floods, or do you consider certain parts of England as no-go areas on a permanent basis....

Yes, I think this is a good idea - the regional boards are used mainly by those about to travel to those areas, so having one thread which can be searched is a useful thing.

I too think that this idea makes sense.
And not just because of the number of times I've had somebody say "You're from England? Is that in London?"

Does seem very sensible to have all the UK threads all in one place.
Actually there are probably more threads appropriate here put (incorrectly) onto the BA and other boards than the current numbers for London and for the UK.
What shall we call it ? In past experience those from the USA, to take an example, call this country "The UK", "Britain", "England" and "London" in equal proportions.

I did cover the name in the motion actually - I've said to retain status as a full forum and be called 'UK & Ireland'. It's geographically correct, and relatively uncontroversial (unlike Britain, England, London, British Isles etc!)

Perhaps at a later date we can propose a name change to "London and its provinces"? Or perhaps "London and surrounding area"?
