Dovster

I think we should all commit to voting for Dovster for the TalkBoard. His musings keep me laughing. While he has sworn of DL, I think he may still have some good in him.

I second that, but I thought we were not allowed to have threads that singled out an FTer -- for better or worse (latter not applicable).

That is probably true... Maybe we should call it "unabashed dovster spam"!!!

Dovster is one of several candidates in the race to be elected to TalkBoard. I wish Dovster and the others the best of luck in the elections.

Anyone can apply to become a candidate, but the deadline to apply is approximately October 21, 2004 one week from today.

This thread has nothing to do with Delta Air Lines or the SkyMiles program, and threads about specific FlyerTalk members are not allowed on FlyerTalk (although, if I am not mistaken, I do believe an exception is allowed regarding the election of candidates in the TalkBoard Topics forum during election time), so I am moving this thread to the TalkBoard Topics forum.

Spiff, the moderator in the TalkBoard Topics forum, can then decide at his discretion whether or not to keep this thread open, change the topic of this thread to not mention the name of a FlyerTalk member, or merge it into an already-existing thread.

SaveDelta,

I really appreciate the thought but I think it would be better if Spiff closed this thread.

I don't think it is in FlyerTalk's best interest to have public endorsements of TalkBoard candidates by other FT'ers. In the long run, it could well cause resentment on the part of those who are also seeking to be on TB.

("Hey! How come JoeBlow is endorsing X and not me? I'll get that $%&$@ the next time he posts!")

BTW, I have not sworn off Delta. I am merely thinking of putting future SkyMiles into my Alitalia account. You guys are stuck with me!

I agree, threads supporting candidates do seem to violate the TOS.

However, I would see nothing wrong with endorsing someone during the course of normal posting.

For example:

An excellent summary and that is one of the reasons I will be voting for Dovster for TalkBoard.
