I assume it's in the development queue (it was reported to IB and acknowledged by them). There is a thread to report problems with wikis linked in Carol's announcement about the wiki functionality. Perhaps you may want to post there, as IB may be able to respond about the status of that bug.
Phew! I really thought I was imagining things!
Thanks!

why does the wiki post have to show up on every page? it's very annoying when the post is large, like in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/credi...first-169.html

other forums just show it on page 1 - people know it's there when they need it, and don't have to skip down on every page.

True. I was thinking the same thing...that the WIKI had gotten huge there!

The only option is to minimize it.

That was a design decision that IB implemented when they added the feature. Edited to add: you might consider posting in the thread linked below by libralibra, as that thread is monitored by IB.

The minimize is good. It would be better if it still left it open on page 1 so that you didn't have to toggle it again when you needed it (and then remember to toggle it off again).

I also see "Wikipost Hide All" under our Options settings. It'd be nice to make this a tri-state option: hide, show, show only on page 1.

edit: I cross posted to http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/techn...threads-2.html

It's also in the toolbar to the right of "My Flyertalk".

Interesting point. IB can Wiki locking be synced with thread locking, please?

Well, it seems to be a massive loophole that totally circumvents the purpose of locking a thread. However, if it's not an open and shut case, please feel free to offer reasons that that shouldn't be the case.

i dont have an opinion, and i dont know whether this was done intentionally or not, and if it was done intentionally, who decided, etc.

but a single wikipost is not the same as a thread. i doubt many people will take an argument from the (locked) thread into the wiki, editing back and forth. as one example.

application of FT Rules to wikiposts is still relevant (including to this question) if it has not been addressed.

Agreed. But you'd also think that a mod posting that ppl should stop fighting would cause ppl to back off, yet threads still need to be locked sometimes. In any case, mods need to be able to lock Wikis independent of locking threads, even if they're not synced.

i dont know what options mods do or do not have regarding wikiposts, not sure how much that was discussed

"even if theyre not synced" - that was why i asked a clarifying question after your earlier comment "IB can Wiki locking be synced with thread locking, please" - i dont know what the opinions are of all involved parties

Mods can lock wikiposts independently of locking threads.
