problems to get to book codeshare flights..

I recently priced a "GVA" to "LONDON" itinary I wanted to buy on swiss.com and the only direct connection the website would show me would be GVA-LCY flights. No indication of the direct GVA-LRH flights now only operated by BA with LX codeshare numbers (when they dealt with BA and gave them their slots in LRH..). Therefore, the only itinary bookable online is GVA-ZRH-LHR if you wana end up at LHR.
I find that very annoying. I totally understand they want you to fly with them and their planes, but c'mon, if you make a partenariat and then prevent your custommers from using it, it's just bad marketing. It seems it happens quite often with codeshare destination. I'm quite pissed, i mean what is the point in advertising codeshare destinations if you dont put it on diplay in your online store ???
Any experience/ comments on that ? Thanks in advance !

Exclamation codeshares with BA/denimairway canceled effective Sept 13th

swiss has canceled all BA codeshare flights beginning 12th of september...

source: swiss corporate newsletter

moreover lx cancels codeshare-agreements with denim airways ... flights to florence and bologna are no longer operated with lx-flight numbers, venice will be served by lx own erj-145.

I couldn't agree more. The website does allow certain codeshares, such as those operated by AA, IB, LY or OK although sometimes at a higher price. For more obscure routes it gives an error message. I got very frustrated trying to book ZRH-CMB operated by SriLankan and gave up in the end and flew EK.

The reservation system/website is not at its strongest when it comes to code-shares. They are invariably expensive and sometimes crazily so: the website offers BHX BRU ZRH MAD for example - as a viable routing between BHX and MAD - prices it very reasonably in C-class, then adds in EUR 1400 or so as fuel surcharge. Right, I'll take two of those please And only a madman would take up the alternatives I've been offered to places like KUL via ZRH.

Another weird touch of the website is to suggest overnight connections through ZRH on European flights. e.g. MXP-ZRH/zzzzzzzz/ZRH-LHR. OK, it could be an attractive proposition to some: but, I think, only a very few!

Thanks very much for the info, I didnt hear that at all.
I guess that was the price to pay for dropping the OW deal with BA...

Could any feelow TC Gold card holder let me know when they received their last Gold Newsletter ? I remember how nice it was to be warn of the next months miles promos a few days before everyone else... miss that ! thanks for your input on that.

Some people try deliberately to get such connections
