Swiss Air - U.S. Partners...

Just booked my first flight ever on Swiss from ORD - ZRH
I noticed that I can accrue AAdvantage miles. Given the LH merger, does anyone know if and when Swiss will begin accruing for United MileagePlus miles?

Thanks
Alex

AA accrual is possible until the End of the Winter 2005/06 timetable. It will probably become possible to earn UA miles once Swiss joins Star Alliance, which will likely be sometime around summer 2006.

I wonder whether LX will completely drop AA cooperation. AA at least is in better financial condition than UA.

As a Star Alliance member and LH sub-company, Swiss will hardly be in any position to continue a cooperation with AA. Plus, simultaneous collaboration with AA and UA will likely be a big no-no for Cartel Commissions.
